  • Whole body acupuncture is your standard acupuncture treatment and holistic care. Based on your needs, sterile, one-time use, hair-thin needles can be placed on the front and back of the body and the arms, legs, face, scalp, hands, and feet during treatments.

Acupuncture works through the nervous system. The channels represent the nerves originating in the spinal cord and spreading throughout the body. When an acupuncture needle stimulates these nerves, signals are sent to the brain, where chemicals (neurotransmitters) are released, triggering the body's self-healing mechanisms.

Foy's acupuncturists are trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which includes acupuncture, Chinese herbs, diet counseling, exercise, and relaxation techniques.

  • Trigger point acupuncture (TPA) is also known as dry needling. Many people know of dry needling, as physical therapists utilize this technique in practice. The dry needling technique’s origins are found within the roots of acupuncture theory. Acupuncture points, known as ashi (ah-shur) points, are identified by the acupuncturist based on palpating tissue. They are also determined when the patient begins to describe to the provider where there is chronic pain, tightness, nerve pain, or sensitivity. Needles are placed in those areas to elicit a muscle twitch or jump. The spasm causes the muscles to release, thus reducing tension and pain, resulting in effective treatments.

  • Electro-acupuncture is excellent for treating chronic pain, reducing anxiety, and supporting digestion. The acupuncture stim units are clipped to the acupuncture needles during treatments. A gentle current then flows down the needle and into the body, helping acupuncture points to activate. Save 10% off your first initial acupuncture services today!

    What does it feel like?

Electro-acupuncture feels similar to a TENS unit placed on the skin. Different sensations will be felt such as a tapping or firm pressure. None of which should be painful. The acupuncturist will monitor your level of comfort throughout treatment.

  • Auricular acupuncture treatment is widely known for its detoxifying benefits. It is also utilized during a standard acupuncture treatment as well. Auricular acupuncture specifically helps with the following:

    • Stress & Anxiety

    • Smoking Cessation

    • Withdrawal Symptoms

    • Cutting Cravings

  • Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that uses heat to create suction within a glass cup. The cup is then placed on an area of the body (typically the back) to help release tight muscles, move qi and energetically detox the body. The cups do leave red marks. However, it should not be painful. Depending on how quickly the patient heals, the effects dissipate within a week or two after treatment.

What we offer.

Why acupuncture?

  • If there is one thing acupuncture is known for, it's helping those who suffer from pain. The acupuncture theory is rooted in the belief that energy flows within us, and pain (among many other issues) will arise when that flow is thrown off. Acupuncture works to rebalance the flow of energy, thus providing pain relief. Once the needles are inserted, a process of chemical reactions takes place. A release of histamine is one of those chemical reactions. Histamine alerts the body there is something wrong. The body begins engulfing toxins and damaged tissue, bringing oxygenated blood to the area.

In conclusion, there are two different ways acupuncture works. One, needles are placed near the problematic area(s), activating the energetic healing process at the source of the problem to provide pain relief. Two, the needle is placed in an acupuncture point which energetically tells the body treatment is needed and signals the acupoint to do its job.

  • When people feel pressured, overwhelmed, pain, anxious or fearful, their sympathetic nervous system becomes activated, and the body responds as though it's in danger. Energy is then focused on supporting defensive measures rather than necessary life functions such as; digestion, proper blood flow, and brain activity. Acupuncture can help the nervous system by bringing the body back to balance, allowing it to operate within the healthier, parasympathetic nervous system. Life is a lot less scary and way more beautiful than we are often able to recognize. This is because our brains and bodies constantly operate in "sympathetic mode." Acupuncture treatments help to give your mind and body a new, healthier, and more enjoyable perspective by releasing the body’s feel-good hormones, such as dopamine and serotonin.

  • Acupuncture is an ancient medical practice that uses sterile hair-thin needles to activate and balance the body's energy or qi (chi). This ancient practice is rooted in Yin-Yang Theory, meaning everything is about balance. The needles are simply the messenger (because metal conducts energy) to bring qi back to balance with treatments!

The body is made up of a mapped system through which energy flows. This system is comprised of Acupuncture meridians or channels. Along the meridians, there are areas where energy is concentrated called Acupuncture points. The insertion of needles activates points to help reduce pain and fevers, increase energy, decrease anxiety, neck pain, nerve pain and so much more. Based on the information gathered during the initial intake, the Acupuncturist decides what acupuncture points will best fit the patient's needs. Acupoints are all over the body, from head to toe, front and back.

  • When someone receives acupuncture, the immune system reacts by decreasing the release of inflammation-causing cytokines. Acupuncture also supports the immune system by increasing helper T cells and NK cells (cells that are great at fighting viruses and bacteria). In turn, acupuncture keeps the body's defense system rested and strong, resulting in less of a need for pain medications to relieve pain in your life.
